Unpolished Indrayani Rice
Indrayani Rice grown certain parts of Maharashtra including Kolhapur, Pune and Satara is a long grain aromatic rice known for its highly nutritious properties and taste.
Directions:
Soak it in water for 2-3 hours before cooking, this removes the excess starch. Also, helps cook in a proper way.
Benefits:
1. Rich in fibre and has low Glycemic Index, hence good for diabetics.
2. Good source of vitamins and minerals, it helps in body metabolism and improving immunity.
3. Gluten Free.
4. Improves Bowel movements.
Suggestion:
Serve it hot with some A2 Ghee and Sambhar.
Note: The rice, being unpolished, tends to be softer after cooking. As it is rich in fibre, the taste differs than highly polished rices.
Storage Instructions:
Store this rice in an air-tight container. Kindly add some rock salt and 2-4 whole chillies to your pack. If your refrigerator space permits, the best way to store this rice without adding any preservatives is to refrigerate it.
